On the 5th day of the Al Dhafra Book Festival 2023, organised by Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, the Festival celebrated the Emirati poet Ali Salem Bertaa Al Hameli, a star of the 8th edition of the "Million’s Poet" tv show, as part of the "Poetry Nights: Voices Loved by People" programme. Al Hameli discussed his life story, significant literary contributions, and his sung poems, along with the poets Hamad Salem Bertaa Al Hameli and Mohammed Ahmed Al Kindi Al Marar, during a poetry and melodies session moderated by the poet Obaid bin Qadlan Al Mazrouei, and the poet's most significant poems were performed by the singer Qusai Al Maamary.

The cultural programme included the inspirational session "Sustainability through Generations", which delved into the theme of sustainability from ancestors to decendants and provided a unique opportunity to explore how the concept of sustainability is transmitted from a generation to another in a rapidly evolving world with unprecedented environmental challenges. The speakers included HE Sheikh Dr Salem Bal Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Emirates Cancer Society's board of directors, and Dr Ibrahim Ali Mohammed, Chairman of the Environment Friends Society.

As for the arts programme, there were a variety of workshops offered by a number of artists, including one about Arabic calligraphy by the calligraphist Ali Abdullah Al Hammadi, the art of painting with resin by the artist Rana Al Masi, and drawing on mirrors by the artist Fatima Al Hammadi, as well as macro and portrait photography by the professional photographer Afra Al Marar, and studio lighting basics and night photography by the photographer Abdullah Al Raisi.
